Students are required to purchase a 9”x12” wire bound sketchbook to use for weekly sketchbook assignments in Studio in Art 1 & 2. Sketches are assigned every Monday and are due the following Monday. Sketches that do not meet the assigned criteria must be redone in order to receive credit.
Sketchbook grading is divided into 2 categories:
Sketchbook Completion- 10%
Sketchbook Overall Grade- 20%
Every Monday each student's sketchbook will be checked and comments written. If their sketchbook assignment is completed, they will receive a 100 in the Sketchbook Completion category. If it is not complete, they will receive a zero.
At the end of each 6 week marking period, students will hand in their sketchbook for an overall grade based the quality of their sketches. This grade will go in the Sketchbook Overall Grade category. This gives students an opportunity to make any corrections to their sketches based on my weekly comments during the 6 weeks.
