Effort on Assignment Label all assignments with your name, date, page numbers and problem set. Homework will be assigned to practice the skills students learn in class. An assignment will be given a score of 0 to 4 points based on the following criteria: all problems are attempted and it is well organized and written as neatly as possible showing all necessary work.  The score received will be used to determine the effort put forth for the assignment in the following manner:

0 – 0%                                     1 – 25%                                   2 – 50 %

3 – 75 %                                  4 – 100%

Test / Quiz Correction Policy: Test and quizzes are meant to be part of the learning process and not a means to an end. Therefore students are encouraged to do the necessary work, within one week of the original grade date, to show the correct answer and explain what the student did wrong the first time.  Quiz corrections are worth 40% of the missed points (some short or pop quizzes will not be available for correction), test corrections are worth 30% of the missed points, and are added back to the original test grade. Generally retakes for quizzes, tests and extra credit assignments will not be offered. If a retake is available it will be offered to the entire class.
