A Speech Therapist supports children with
developing communication skills. Madrid-Waddington
Central School offers our students Speech Improvement
services and Speech and Language services through the
Committee on Special Education. The following areas
can be addressed through speech services: *articulation
skills (producing sounds correctly),*fluency (speaking
fluently),*social skills (learning and using appropriate
words and gestures with peers and adults),*memory skills (
recall of short and long term information),* grammar (
learning and using age-appropriate grammar rules),*concept
development( learning developmental concepts imbedded into
grade level curriculum),*vocabulary skills
(understanding and use of basic vocabulary taken from grade
level material and general vocabulary appropriate to age
level), *oral expression (ability to speak in complete
sentences with varied vocabulary) |
