Your task will be to create one chapter of the anthology and prepare a written and visual presentation for the class about your selected poet.
Your project will include:
The
selection of a poet and selected poems
A
four to five paragraph persuasive essay explaining why your poet and his/her
selected poems deserve inclusion in the Yellowjacket Anthology of Poetry.
A
PowerPoint presentation which includes the following elements:
An obituary for the poet to include date of birth, date of death, major achievements, awards, and interesting facts about the poet's life and career. (See the teacher if the poet is not deceased.)
A picture of the poet.
A bibliography of the poet's published work.
A reference page which includes the sources of all your information.
A single poem of at least fourteen lines, or several poems totaling close to fourteen lines.
An
oral presentation of your selected poem(s) for the class.
