Harry Potter and the
Sorcerer's Stone
By J.K. Rowling
This is the wonderful tale of a boy who learns, at age 11, that he is a wizard. He is lucky enough to have been selected by one of the best wizarding schools in the world. Unfortunately, the most evil wizard the world has ever known, You-Know-Who, is also looking for Harry. He wants his revenge for what Harry did to him as an infant.
Students will love this fast paced fantasy novel. The affect it has on reading is unimaginable. Enjoy, it is one of Mr. Gotsch's favorites.

No Dogs Allowed
by
Bill
Wallace

Book
review written by Schiler A.
No Dogs Allowed is about this 10-year-old girl named Kristine. Her mother is going to have a little baby. Will it be a cute little boy or a cute little girl? Will she even have the baby? At the same time Kristine’s awesome uncle ended up giving her a cuddle little puppy. Does she want the puppy right then? What will she name it? Will it be annoying or a pest? Kristine also runs off searching her for Grandma and Grandpa Rink. She gets lost in the woods far back, in the back of her house. Will someone find her? Who will find her? You should read this realistic fiction book because it’s a little sad, but fun to read. If you enjoy pets and reading about animals, this is the book for you.
The Indian in the
Cupboard
by
Lynne Reid Banks

Review written by Bridget B.
The Indian in the Cupboard is a fantastic book about a boy named Omri that gets three presents. He gets a very detailed plastic Indian doll, a cupboard, and a very small key. When Omri puts the plastic Indian doll in the cupboard and turns the key, he finds the Indian doll alive and breathing! You should read this if you are somebody who likes books that are fantasy, and have a lot of action in them. Every page is filled with the adventures the boy has with the Indian! Once you start reading it is hard to put the book down!
The Silver Chair
by
C.S.
Lewis

Book
review written by Meghan C.
The Silver Chair is about two children who find a magical and enchanting land. This land is called Narnia. The Silver Chair is a fantasy novel. Children and adults of all ages would like this book because it is filled with exciting adventures. (The Silver Chair also consists of endurance and courage.) There is a series of books that continue the journeys of many people and creatures in this strange land. If you like the Silver Chair then you will love the series, The Chronicles of Narnia. There are seven books in the series. In the Silver Chair there is a task, funny creatures, two courageous children, and a prince. One of the brave children is a cousin of the old rulers of Narnia, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, and knows the ruler, Caspian; very well his name is Eustace. The other child has never been to Narnia and must find a lost friend who fell off a cliff her name is Jill. When a lion comes into the picture everything becomes difficult and confusing. But they must continue to find the lost prince.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Horse and His Boy
by
C. S. Lewis

When a young boy meets a talking horse, he finds he is not the son of a fisherman. Together they set off to where the horse belongs. In the magical world to which the horse belongs the boy and horse plan to find there’re families. In the country of Narnia horses, trees, and many other thing talk. But along the way the two incomer lions. After the lions, the horse speeds up. It seems that the horse and the boy are not the only ones in this forest tonight. A horse was galloping as fast as the horse. Was it someone sent to find them? Or was someone else running way? Was someone meet the lions? The galloping was coming closer. What will happen to the horse and his boy? The Chronicles of Narnia has seven fun filled books. The Manichean’s Nephew, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Horse and his Boy, The Silver Chair, The Voyage of the Dawn Trader, Prince Caspian, and The Last Battle. I enjoyed the suspends in this book. This book is fun and descriptive. You never what to put down this book. It keeps you, wondering what will happen next? All of the Narnia books are fun filled and exciting.
Saving Shiloh
by
Phylis Reynold Naylor

Book
review by Jeremy D.
This book starts with an unsolved murder, burglaries, and Judd was being blamed for all of it. Judd was in a real bad accident sometime around the murder. Marty’s little sister, Dara Lynn, almost drowns, and Judd rescues Shiloh from the flooding creek. Marty defends Judd and helps him while he is recovering from his injuries. David and Marty go to the Shiloh Schoolhouse and think they find a body. When the police come it turns out to be a boot and glove sticking out of the snow.
I encourage people to read this realistic fiction novel because it keeps you interested and makes you wonder who committed the murder. Saving Shiloh is the second book in the series. To understand the relationship between Marty and Judd you would need to read Shiloh and The Shiloh Trilogy? I found the book to be very interesting. It shows the loves between a boy and his pet, and how a mean person uses his own life to save a child’s pet.
The Baby Sitters Club

M. Martin

Book
review written by Drew H.
This book is about a thirteen-year-old girl who is baby sitting a lot. She has to make some big involving between her mother and father.
When Stacey was baby-sitting at Mrs. Braddock’s house her kids were
getting ready for a show. They had to make costumes, get a wagon, and get the
things they were going to sell. They were doing this because they wanted to make
enough money to buy yo-yos.
A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Austere Academy
By
Lemony Snicket
Book review written by Matt H.
The book I am reading is A Series Of Unfortunate Events The Austere Academy. You should read this book because this book has lots of excitement. The book I’m reading is mostly about these 3 orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire. They have to go to an academy, and try to prove Count Olaf is the new gym teacher, and they call him the greatest gym teacher of all time. Some of the Baudelaire’s challenges are fighting against crabs, and of course they win, they also have to listen to Nero’s band play and the Baudelaire’s call that a challenge because he is really bad. You should read the other one’s in the series I recamend book1, book2, and book 4. Those are really good one’s. This is why you should buy this book or just borrow it. Also the last thing I have to tell you about the new assistant for Count Olaf you will here about here at the beginning of the book, she is not a nice person. There is more than 4 books in this series there is about 13 books I think, I heard the 13th book is really good, I’m probably going to read that book next.
