                                                                                                     TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE

                                 The Tennessee Walking horse was found about one hundred years ago. This type of horse is called a walking horse because it has a very swift way of walking. You can not teach any other horse to run like this because the Walking horse just inherits it from it's ancestors. When they run like this, they tend to bob their head and swing their ears with every step. This horse can travel 6-12 miles per hour! These horses are famous for another walk. It is called the "flat foot walk" which is slow and bold. The third walk of this horse is called "the canter", which is when the horse is in a galloping motion. All three of these walks are easy on the rider.  This horse is many colors including brown, black, bay, chestnut, roan, palomino, white or gray. These horses are gentle and intelligent.  These horses have stong legs and very bright eyes. They are about 15.2 hand high and their tail and mane are long and flowing.                                                                                                     EXMOOR PONY

                                This pony is one of the oldest native Britain ponies. 60,000 years ago, they say there may have been a creature to look similar to this pony. This pony can actually survive in cold weather without human assistance. They have a sleek coat in the summer ,but in the winter they can get a shaggy coat! Their skin can actually prevent them from getting wet out in rainy weather. These ponies are always brown with a dash of black in a few places. They have small ears and maybe a ring of different color around their muzzle or eye. Although their ears are small, they have very big eyes. A male in height is 11.3 to 12.3 in hands and a female or mare is 11.2 to 12.2 in hands. This pony can weigh 700 to 800 pounds. Again, to learn more, click on this hyperlink.                                                                                                     PAINT HORSE

                                This horse was founded by the Spanish conquistadors. These horses are descendents from the horses in North Africa and Asia Minor. When they were in the wild, many years ago, cowboys loved to capture them to help them with their cattle drives. They are said to be descendents of the Cow Ponie  and the Wild Mustang because of it's great athletic ability. They are said to be great in riding , showing, ranching, racing, rodeoing, trail riding, or just as a gentle friend for the kids. They are strong when riding.
