Drone Soccer Team Places 4th in the Nation
Drone Soccer

The Madrid-Waddington Central School District proudly announces that its U.S. Drone Soccer team placed 4th in the nation at the 2025 Drone Soccer National Championship, hosted at the SkyDome in Rome, NY, the largest anechoic chambered unmanned aerial vehicle experimentation facility in the United States.

Madrid-Waddington earned distinction as the highest ranked public school in the country and the top-placing team east of the Rocky Mountains.

This marks the third consecutive year the team has achieved a top national ranking—a remarkable accomplishment for a small, rural district. The district continues to shine as a leader in high school STEAM education and drone innovation.

The district extends sincere thanks to:

- SeaComm Federal Credit Union for supporting the team’s travel,

- The Carlisle Law Firm for sponsoring team shirts, and

- The families of our team members for their time, support, and dedication

With continued community and industry support, Madrid-Waddington students are showing that great things are possible—no matter what size your school is.
