Spring Sports at Madrid-Waddington
spring

We are thrilled to be getting our student athletes outside for what will hopefully be a warm spring season.  Outside events provide a substantially lower risk of COVID spread so we are pleased to be able to welcome spectators for all softball, baseball, and track events at Madrid-Waddington.

We will be utilizing the same protocols as were in place for fall sports as follows:

  • Limit of 2 spectators per athlete:

    • Each athlete will provide the names of the 2 spectators to their coach one day prior to all home and away games.

    • Schools will be collecting gate lists.

  • All spectators must wear masks at all times.

  • Spectators must maintain appropriate social distancing between family/household units.

  • All spectators must be able to answer “no” to the following:

    • Do you have a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or greater?

    • Have you experienced COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days? (sore throat, new uncontrolled cough, difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, new onset of severe headache, the new loss of taste or smell)

    • Have you been told by a medical professional that you have had a positive COVID-19 test in the past 14 days?

    • Have you had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) with a person with confirmed COVID-19?

    • Have you returned from a State in the past 14 days that is on New York States Travel Advisory List?

As a friendly reminder, we do not allow pets on campus.  We appreciate the cooperation of all spectators in advance of our season.
