COVID UPDATE 10.23.20

Good morning, at this point SLCDPH has made most of their quarantine contacts, and due to our COVID-19 protocols were able to contain most of the quarantine to students/staff at the fifth grade level.  The quarantine does not involve every fifth grade student/staff so if you are not contacted to quarantine then you will not be affected by this positive case.  Most people should know by now, however public health had a few calls still to make.  There were some additional quarantined individuals at other elementary grade levels due to a common special and bus run which is to be expected.  All these individuals have been or will be contacted soon.

St. Lawrence County Department of Public Health determined that contact tracing was not necessary at the high school which means there will be no school-related quarantined individuals at the high school level.

With this current information in hand we are able to make the decision to return to in-person instruction this coming Monday, October 26 with the exception of fifth grade students.  Quarantined staffing limitations and as an additional precautionary measure we will need to keep our fifth grade students fully remote Monday-Thursday and return to in-person instruction on Friday, October 30.

Practice may begin this afternoon and games this weekend will be played as scheduled.

Meal service online ordering will remain open through Monday so quarantined remote students will be able to participate in the weekly meal service.  The meal order form can be found by clicking the COVID resources tab on the District home page.

Our normal Friday material drop-off will be moved to Monday morning for this week at approximately the same time.

Our ability to navigate this so quickly and efficiently is a testament to the efforts of the entire staff and student body to adhere to necessary safety protocols.   We are very appreciative of the partnership with St. Lawrence County Department of Public Health and their ability to respond so quickly.

We ask everyone to continue to follow safety protocols and contact our school nurse with any health related questions.
